One of the students of the English Education department, Nurul Widya Tanaya, class of 2021, recently shared her experience of participating in Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) abroad in Malaysia. This experience provides valuable insights into social and educational activities in an international environment.
According to Nurul, the KKN abroad programme was very satisfying, with a rating of 9/10. She mentioned that the opportunity to interact with children from different cultural backgrounds opened up the horizon of knowledge and made the mind more open. ‘Studying abroad also teaches the importance of teamwork. By supporting each other and learning together, adaptation in a new environment becomes more enjoyable and programmes can run successfully,’ Nurul said.
One unexpected and memorable experience occurred during the KKN farewell event. ‘Our event was very successful, and we felt very touched when many guardians gave us memento gifts. We realised that our arrival and our KKN activities were very well received. That moment was really special and made us feel appreciated for our hard work,’ Nurul said.
For students who are interested in joining KKN abroad, here are some general requirements and selection stages that must be prepared:
