Lecturers have a very important role in supporting the recognition and excellence of the UMS English Education study program. Therefore, the quality of lecturers is one of the main focuses that need to be improved. The quality of a lecturer can be measured by the extent to which he carries out the Tri dharma of higher education in Indonesia, which are teaching, researching and community service. Overall, the quality of Tridarma in UMS English Education Study Program is quite satisfactory, but scientific publications, especially in reputable journals, are still needed to get improved both quality and quantity.
On Wednesday, August 11, 2021, Department of English Education UMS conducted a workshop on “Writing and Publishing Scientific Articles”. The aim of this workshop was to improve the understanding of DEE lecturers in journal articles and scientific publication. Also, at the end of this workshop, the number of publication of the DEE lecturers is supposed to get better.
In this workshop, Department of English Education UMS invited an international presenter, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Melor Md Yunus, lecturer from University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), to share their knowledge and understanding about research articles and publication. In her presentation, she discussed some techniques in writing research articles. Also, she explained some strategies to choose the best journal which is suitable for our manuscript.
