Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) once again held the UMS Future Insight program as an introduction to university life for senior high school students and recent graduates who are still exploring their study options. Managed by the UMS New Student Admission Team (PMB) and supported by all study programs, this initiative aims to provide prospective students with first-hand insight into academic life at UMS.
On Saturday, December 13, 2025, the English Education Study Program (PBI UMS) took part in the program by offering a “Day as a UMS Student” experience. The activity was attended by Grade 12 students from various senior high schools (SMA/SMK/MA) across the Solo Raya region who were eager to learn more about studying English Education at UMS.

The program began with a Sit-in Class, allowing participants to experience an actual lecture atmosphere and interact directly with a lecturer from the English Education Study Program, Mr. Fitri Kurniawan, M.Ed. In an engaging and interactive session, participants were introduced to the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), lexicon, and speaking practice. The class was further enriched by the presence of an exchange student from Uzbekistan, Charos Kamalova, who actively joined the discussion and speaking activities.
The experience continued with a Campus Tour, where participants explored the campus and observed various academic facilities firsthand. Guided by student members of SEGA, the tour included visits to the language laboratory, classrooms, lecturers’ offices, and the UMS Library.
Through the UMS Future Insight program, participants not only gained an overview of university life but also experienced the academic environment directly. The program is expected to help prospective students make more informed decisions about their future studies while becoming more familiar with the English Education Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta.
