Surakarta – The Department of English Education (DEE), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) held a two-day “Literary Celebration” event on 27-28 December 2024. The event was a platform for students to express their creativity and understanding of literary works through various performances such as poetry recitation, poetry musical, and literary drama. This event involved students who took Intro to Literature and Poetry courses. On the second day, the event closed with the awarding of the best group based on the judges’ judgement and the audience’s choice. Literary Celebration is not only an art appreciation event, but also aims to inspire the younger generation, including high school students, to love literature more.
