DEE students joined FAKULTARIA (Students’ Orientation of FKIP)

On August 26, 2019, all the new students of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) including all DEE new students, joined students’ orientation held in FKIP campus. Prof. Dr. Harun Joko Prayitno, M.Hum, as the dean of FKIP, delivered his speech in this occasion emphasizing the importance of academic skills and organizational experience as well as the ability to live in a community. He also added that FKIP, as a pioneer faculty in UMS, has an excellent alumni track record and is widely trusted in various fields of education in public institutions and other strategic agencies.

In order to prepare FKIP UMS graduates to become professional teachers with Islamic personalities and to become initiators of educational change in this era of disruption, FKIP have sent students to take PLP-2 and KKNDik internship programs in several ASEAN countries and DSP AUM (Strategic Development Areas Muhammadiyah’s Charity Business) in many regions of Indonesia. Currently, there are 257 FKIP students who joined this internship program in various places, such as Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Medan, Bangka, Belitung, Sukamara, Pangkalanmbun, Mataram, Makassar, Kendari, and Sorong Raja Ampat.

In this event, FKIP also invited Drs. Sigit Purwanto, MSi, one of the FKIP former students from Indonesian Language & Literature Education Study Program who delivered his speech about dedication, achievement, and alumni projection. Drs. Sigit Purwanto, MSi  who was once the Head of BEM FKIP during his study here, had an excellent track record in his career such as becoming a dedicated teacher, being Chief of the BKKBN Office, and currently, he is trusted to be the Chief of Selogiri, Wonogiri Sub-District.
