The Teaching and Education Faculty (FKIP) Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS) held a New Student Orientation Week (POMB) activity which began for four days on August 30, 2022, at Siti Walidah Field until September 2, 2022, which took place at Campus 1 FKIP UMS. POMB, organized by Ormawa FKIP UMS, is an activity aimed at new students to introduce the campus, both in the educational environment, infrastructure, and student environment.
In the series of POMB activities, there is an introduction to a study program called Prodi Ria, located in Building C FKIP Campus 1 UMS. There were 242 new DEE students from various regions in Indonesia. 28 DEE lecturers also attended the Prodi Ria to introduce the complete study program to new students. In this activity, the lecturers also introduced the learning activities carried out at DEE and the rooms used for lectures. Furthermore, new students are given information about the SKS (Credit Transfer System), which aims to open up student knowledge to facilitate the future KRS process. DEE also provides information about activities that students can participate in, such as Merdeka Learn Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), which grants conversion rights and DEE student achievements that can motivate new students.
The Prodi Ria activities went quite lively with the appearance of the DEE lecturer, Ms. Dra. Rini Fatmawati, who sang the song, and DEE FKIP UMS lecturers who actively contributed insight into the world of college for new students. Prodi Ria became an extraordinary momentum for new students to get to know the lecturers who would teach them. It became a starting point to increase enthusiasm as students at the beginning of lectures.
