Nationwide English Teachers Join DEE UMS Workshop on Technology-Driven Learning Strategies

The Department of English Education FTTE UMS successfully held a workshop entitled “Innovative Strategies for English Learning in the Digital Age” on June 20-21, 2025 online via Zoom. This activity was attended by English teachers from various levels of education (SD / MI, SMP / MTs, to SMA / MA / SMK) throughout Indonesia, with a total of 120 participants.
The two-day event featured eight experts in the field of English education, including Prof. Dr. Endang Fauziati, M.Hum., Koesoemo Rath, Ph.D., and Dr. Mujazin, M.A., who discussed various current topics, such as:
Application of connectivism theory in EFL teaching, Deep learning strategies for the English language classroom, The use of technology and AI in the development of learning materials, and Practice of pronunciation feedback in the digital era.

Susiati, M.Ed., Secretary of the Study Program who represented the absence of the Head of English Education Study Program, in her remarks said that this workshop was designed to help teachers face the challenges of learning in the 21st century. “We want teachers to not only master the material, but also be able to adapt to the latest technological developments and learning methods,” she said.
The participants were very enthusiastic in participating in each session, especially during hands-on practice and interactive discussions. In addition to getting a 32 JP e-certificate, participants also received complete workshop materials and access to session recordings for further learning materials.
This activity is part of the commitment of the UMS English Education Study Program in improving the quality of education through developing teacher professionalism. In the future, PBI UMS plans to hold more similar trainings with various themes.
