The commemoration of National Heroes’ Day on 10 November 2024 is a momentum for the younger generation to emulate the fighting spirit of the heroes in building the nation. Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, in her speech at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery, Jakarta, stated that the spirit of heroism is not only about the courage to take up arms, but also about the courage to face the challenges of the times with innovation and creativity. Risma also hoped that the spirit of heroism can continue to burn in the hearts of the younger generation, so that they can become the heroes of today who lead Indonesia to a more glorious future. The series of National Heroes’ Day events were filled with various activities, including flag ceremonies, sowing flowers at heroes’ graves, and heroic exhibitions. The government also honoured the heroes of today who have contributed in various fields.
