On September 4, 2020, DEE (Department of English Education) FKIP UMS held an online PRODIRIA (Study Orientation and Lecturer Introduction for New Students) event. This is an annual event held by the English Education Study Program, FKIP UMS which aims to welcome new students and introduce English Education study programs in general.
Mauly Halwat Hikmat, Ph.D. as the head of DEE, started the activity by explaining the vision and mission of the Department of English Education. She also congratulated the students for being accepted into the English Education Study Program. She said: “Here, you will not only study English, but you can also study religion, be active in organization and UKM, do entrepreneurship, establish cooperation and networking, and many other things that can be a provision after you graduate from college. ”
The event then continued with a presentation from Aryati Prasetyarini, M.Pd as the secretary of DEE, who explained about the educational system in the English Education Department. Students are expected to always actively monitor every update of the information in the website as well as social media of the English Education Department.
In the third session, Susiati M.Ed, also as the secretary of DEE, continued the event by guiding the introduction of English lecturers to new students. One of the remarks from Agus Wijayanto,Ph.D as one of the DEE lecturers: “Now you have entered to this college. The next task is you have to think how to get out (graduate) from this place,” he said.
