On June 17th 2021, Department of English Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta held a webinar on Article Publication in Good Journal for all DEE lectures. All 29 lecturers of English Educaton Department, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta joined this webinar.
This webinar was held in order to support the article publication of the lecturers in this department which has been a responsibility for the lecture to complete “Tridarma” of the higher education. Every year, all lecturers must publish at least an article in a good journal and it has been a challenge for most lecturers since they have to deal with many obstacles from the process of writing an article until it is published.
This event was moderated by Dr. Abdillah Nugroho, M.Hum., a senior lecturer in Department of English Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, who is currently responsible as a member of Quality Control team in this department.
The event began with the opening remarks from Mauly Halwat Hikmat, Ph.D, head of Department of English Education Department, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. She wished that this event would bring most benefit and understanding for all the lecturers in this department to improve their article publication both in quality and quantity.
Next, it was continued by the main activity of this event, which is presentation from Ir. Waluyo Adi Siswanto, M.Eng., Ph.D. a lecturer from Engineering faculty in Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, who is also active in Agency for the Development of Scientific Publications and Textbooks (LPPI) Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. In this presentation, he discussed some aspects to determine whether the journals are good or not. In his discussion he also explained some features in Scopus which are really important to be understood.
