The English Education Study Program (PBI) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) conducted benchmarking visits to two partner universities, Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA) on November 19 and Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) on November 20, 2025. These visits were part of a strategic initiative to support curriculum revitalization and strengthen collaboration in the implementation of the Tridarma of Higher Education.
At UNISMA, the PBI UMS delegation was warmly welcomed by the Head of the English Education Study Program, Dr. Eko Suhartoyo, M.Pd., along with members of the academic leadership and faculty. The discussion focused on curriculum structure, the implementation of an impactful curriculum, and best practices in developing learning experiences that align with current educational demands.

The following day, the delegation continued its benchmarking activities at UMM and was received warmly by the Head of the English Education Study Program, Rafika Rabba Farah, S.Pd., M.Ed., together with faculty members. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange insights on curriculum development, innovative teaching practices, and strategies for strengthening learning outcomes. The discussion also explored opportunities for collaboration in teaching, research, and community service.
Through these benchmarking visits, PBI UMS gained valuable references and practical insights to support the development of an impactful curriculum that is responsive to the needs of students and the evolving landscape of English education. The visits also reinforced the commitment of PBI UMS to expanding academic networks and fostering sustainable collaboration in the areas of education, research, and community engagement.
