Department of English Education (DEE) FKIP UMS in collaboration with Surakarta Tourism Office, held the general lecture of Tourism for DEE students. This lecture was part of the DEE program aims to give the insight for the students regarding the importance of English to support the tourism in Indonesia. From this lecture, DEE students are also hoped to be more knowledgeable about the prospect of working in tourism sector after the graduate from this university.
For this time, DEE invited Mr. Joko Pramodyo, as an “Abdi Dalem” in the tourism sector of Pura Mangkunegaran Solo. During the discussion, he mentioned that the tourism sector in Indonesia were struggling so hard during this pandemic situation. However, the governments have tried the best option to revitalize the tourism sector.
He said, “We tried to open some tourism place with very strict health protocol and reducing the number of visitors allowed to come.”
